Dear Members, Friends and Supporters,
On Tuesday, September 1, 2009, people all over the world will pause to remember the 70th Anniversary of the Invasion of Poland and the Outbreak of World War II. The Polish American community and various ethnic groups will mark this historic date with ceremonies and memorials.
In the Philadelphia area there will be a special ceremony on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 12 noon at the Polish American Cultural Center Museum, 308 Walnut Street in historic Philadelphia, PA, sponsored by the Polish American Cultural Center Museum in cooperation with the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District. Admission is free.
All those who resisted Hitler’s Nazi oppression, including the millions of civilians of many nations and faiths killed in Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust and the millions of combatants who died in battle during the War, will be remembered during this special ceremony. Following the ceremony, you are invited to tour the exhibit of World War II photos in the Museum Exhibit Hall. Refreshments will be served.
