The Dempseys were selected by the Polish American Congress in recognition of their many years of leadership and service to the Polish American community in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Jack and Dorothy have been involved in Polish American activities for over 40 years, beginning with their childrens participation in the Pulaski Day Parade. Jack served on the Formation Committee for 10 years and as Chairperson for 30 years, with Dorothy working closely beside him. The Dempseys will lead the Pulaski Day Parade in Center City Philadelphia on Sunday, October 14th, which is one of the many events in the Philadelphia area held in recognition of the National Celebration of Polish American Heritage Month. The Polish American Congress is also pleased to announce that Theresa Romanowski, Vice President of Polish American Congress, Eastern PA District, will once again serve as this years parade coordinator. Once again, the Polish American Congress, Eastern PA District, along with the entire Polonia, offer their congratulations to Jack and Dorothy Dempsey, the 2007 Pulaski Day Parade Grand Marshals. |
