Dear Members, Friends and Supporters,
On October 1, 2008, we mark the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the First Polish Settlers in America at Jamestown, Virginia. As we mark this historical anniversary, I ask that you document your own family's Polish heritage. To assist with this project, there is a Trace Your Heritage link on the front page of the Museum's Internet site at PolishAmericanCenter.com. There was also an outline of that form in the June 2008 Polish American News along with a map of Poland that will help you and your members trace your Polish heritage. Check it out and spread the word.
To mark the 400th Anniversary, and to celebrate the 27th anniversary of Polish American Heritage Month during October, there are several Philadelphia area events planned. Kindly review the these links here.
The Polish American News is sent to Polish American organizations across the United States and is available on the Internet at: PolishAmericanNews.com. At this time, community representatives are asked to review the Polish American Heritage Month link, and the list of "Things To Do During October, Polish American Heritage Month," which will help you plan your local celebration and a Press Release for your local newspapers.
There is always something happening in the Polish American community across the United States. It's great to see that Polish American history and pride are well represented in the "Great Mosaic of America". One way that you can help us spread the word is by welcoming family and friends to join the Museum's email list. The guest book registration form is on the front page of the Museum's Internet site at: PolishAmericanCenter.com.
As you read the articles in the Polish American News, I ask that you spread the word to others. Your participation is always appreciated. My best wishes to you and yours for an enjoyable Polish American Heritage Month celebration!
