Friends of Independence National Historical Park

This organization is dedicated to promoting and supporting the Park through educational and interpretive programs, community outreach, and acquisitions of historical artifacts. The Friends coordinate Philadelphia Open House, the  spring series of private garden and house tours that feature behind-the-scene glimpses of  historic preservation, architecture, fine and decorative arts, antiques and horticulture. This organization brings America's "most historic square mile" to life with the Town Criers- a troupe of 18th-century re-enactors. Distributes at no costs to visitors the Historic Philadelphia Gazette, an information guide about historic area attractions; and Stars, Stripes & Savings which offers discounts to many museums, restaurants and more.
