PAC in Philadelphia Celebrates
Polish Constitution Day

The officers of the Polish American Congress (PAC), Eastern Pennsylvania District, thank all who attended the Polish Constitution Day Program on Saturday, May 3rd at the Polish American Cultural Center Museum in historic Philadelphia to mark the exact date of the 217th Anniversary of Poland’s Constitution of May 3, 1791.

A short program was held, which included proclamations and greetings presented to Polonia from Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell, Pennsylvania State Senators and Representatives, Philadelphia’s Mayor Michael Nutter, and members of Philadelphia’s City Council.

Dr. Stephen Skorczynski, President of the Associated Polish Home in Northeast Philadelphia, was the main speaker and presented an outstanding presentation of Polish history and Poland’s May 3, 1791 Constitution

Thanks are extended to Fr. Krzysztof Mendelewski, Pastor of St. Valentine Church in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, for the invocation and to Fr. Ed Kuczynski, PAC representative, for the benediction.

Michael Blichasz, President of the PAC Eastern PA District, thanked Theresa Romanowski, PAC Vice President, Richard Klimek, PAC Recording Secretary, along with the PAC officers who helped to coordinate the program. Compliments also to Caroline Ciesielka and the museum’s volunteers for their assistance.

The event concluded with refreshments and an opportunity for all to socialize on a pleasant afternoon.
