Medicare Prescription Drug Program
November/December 2006 Update

According to Medicare, there are still many people who have not signed up for the Medicare Part D program which should have. The staff of Polish American Social Services would like to remind seniors and those on disability with Medicare benefits that have not signed for a Medicare D approved prescription drug plan, the time to sign up is between November 15th and December 31st, 2006 to avoid further penalties.

Also, any senior or those on disability with Medicare who are not pleased with the plan they picked because of premiums, copays, the donut hole or drugs not covered on formularies, are allowed to make a change before December 31st.

At this time, if you have any questions about the Medicare Prescription Drug Program, also known as Part D, contact Polish American Social Services.

Pennsylvania residents are reminded that the PACE/PACENET programs continue to be available to senior citizens. PACE and PACENET are both considered creditable coverage plans and both programs are still enrolling seniors. Due to changes in these programs, they are now sometimes referred to as PACE PLUS.

For additional information about Medicare Part D, PACE PLUS or other social service programs for people of all ages, call Polish American Social Services, Monday through Friday, between 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. at area code (215) 923-1900.
